Why Plainly Prepared exists
Many important jobs arrive without an owner’s manual: maintaining a home, coordinating care, administering an estate, operating a rental or restarting a planning system after an interruption. The information may exist, but the work still fails when records, decisions and next steps are scattered.
Plainly Prepared products are designed to make that work easier to understand and operate. Useful structure matters more than decorative page count.
Plainly Prepared is an owned digital-product brand built, managed and operated by Foster Business Works, which develops and maintains the storefront, commerce systems, automation and platform operations behind the catalog.
Who is responsible for the material
Founded by Cortney Foster, Plainly Prepared grew from a practical aim: help people organize common responsibilities that arrive without clear instructions. Cortney's focus is on making useful tools for everyday problems, with clear records, manageable next steps and a way to pick things back up when life interrupts.
Founded by Cortney Foster. Built, managed and operated by Foster Business Works. The Plainly Prepared editorial attribution identifies responsibility for the organization, wording and maintenance of these resources. It is not a claim of licensed professional review.
Research starts with the responsibility and the records needed to manage it. Material factual guidance is checked against relevant primary or institutional sources where appropriate, with source links on informational resources. Examples and sample records explain how a system works; they are not customer results.
Publication dates identify when a resource first appeared. A substantive revision should include an updated date and a note explaining what changed. Changes to navigation or formatting alone do not imply a new review of the underlying factual guidance.
How products are built
1. Start with a specific job
Each product begins with a responsibility someone needs to manage, not with a template format or a target number of pages.
2. Map the real workflow
We identify the decisions, records, recurring tasks, handoffs and restart points that make the responsibility difficult.
3. Use the format that fits
A printable guide may explain the process. A spreadsheet may be better for calculations and history. A dashboard, checklist or tracker may be better for action. Products can combine formats when that makes the system easier to use.
4. Check the product against its sales page
Before listing a product, we check that the files, features, preview images and product description agree. The sales page should show what the customer is actually buying.
5. Review for clarity and restartability
Instructions, labels and workflows are reviewed for plain language, practical sequence and the ability to return after time away without rebuilding the system.
What customers should expect
- A clear one-time price and an accurate list of included files.
- Real product previews rather than unrelated stock imagery.
- No fabricated reviews, ratings, urgency or sales claims.
- Protected delivery after verified payment.
- Support for access, missing files, obvious defects and billing errors.
- Visible limitations when a product touches legal, medical, tax, safety, property or other professional subjects.
Sources, judgment and professional limits
When a subject depends on public rules, safety guidance or established standards, Plainly Prepared favors relevant primary and institutional sources such as government agencies, manufacturers and recognized professional organizations. Free informational resources identify supporting sources when they materially affect the guidance.
Products organize information and work. They do not inspect property, diagnose conditions, determine legal rights, establish compliance or replace advice from a qualified professional who knows the customer’s facts and location. Manufacturer instructions, applicable law and licensed professional guidance control when they are more specific than a general organizational tool.
Corrections and product updates
If a product description, file or public resource contains a material error, we want to correct it. Send the page or product name, the issue and any supporting source to support@plainlyprepared.com.
Products and public resources may be revised as usability issues, source changes or customer-support patterns reveal a better way to organize the work. Update availability for a prior purchase depends on the nature of the correction and the product version.
